Durch die malerische Auseinandersetzung nähert sich die Künstlerin Anaïs Strübin Fragen der alltäglichen Bildsprache und Kommunikation. In ihrer Arbeit spielt sie mit den Schnittstellen von Dokumentation und Inszenierung, digital und analog, Bewegung und Rhythmus. Das Erforschen von Materialität, Farbe und der Bedeutung des Zeitfaktors reizt sie. Die Untersuchung – die Malerei – wird mittels Algorithmus über eine digitale Plattform transformiert. Das Bild – das Strickpanel – von der Statik der Leinwand befreit, bildet durch seine elastische Eigenschaft sowie seine Grösse eine mobile Komposition, die durch den Faltenwurf im Wandel ist. Vom Körper getragen oder ihn umhüllend, bewegt sich die Komposition, bis zur Auflösung des Motives – die Farbigkeit und Materialität verbindet sich mit der Kleidung und der Umgebung. Through painterly exploration, the artist Anaïs Strübin approaches questions of everyday visual language and communication. In her work she plays with the interfaces of documenting and staging, the digital and the analogue, movement and rhythm. She's fascinated by materiality, colour and exploring the meaning of the time factor. The investigation⁠—the painting⁠—is transformed by an algorithm via a digital platform. Freed from the stasis of the canvas, the picture⁠—the knit panel⁠—becomes a mobile composition, shaped by its elastic property as well as its variable size, which changes depending how it’s draped. Carried by the body or enveloping it, the composition moves until the motif dissolves⁠—its colourfulness and materiality meld with the clothes and the environment.
